The University of Wollongong offers a range of research scholarships and awards to eligible international higher degree research students. The UOW HDR scholarships are in the form of allowances to assist candidates in meeting their living costs while they undertake their research. They can include: annual stipends, living allowances and tuition fee costs. In addition, there are external scholarship opportunities as well as specific and industry based scholarships available.

The Department of Journalism Studies is delighted to offer two Dan Walker Journalism Scholarships worth £10,000 each for UK or European Union students starting a taught postgraduate course in journalism in 2017. The scholarships are for students who have a particular interest in sports journalism and meet at least one of our widening participation criteria or achieve a first in their undergraduate degree. If your application is successful you can use the scholarship towards fees or living expenses – the choice is yours. This is a fantastic opportunity for students on MA Broadcast Journalism or MA Journalism to be mentored by one of the country\'s leading sports journalists and broadcasters. Dan Walker studied on the Broadcast course in 1998-99 and also completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield.

Dentro del marco de la iniciativa Adelante, la IWMF realizará seis viajes de investigación periodística a América Latina en 2016. Los primeros tres días de cada viaje estarán dedicados a una capacitación integral y sesiones informativas sobre seguridad personal presentadas por expertos locales. Durante aproximadamente una semana las periodistas participando en el viaje realizarán actividades grupales e individuales en el país y tendrán la oportunidad de interactuar con individuos e organizaciones claves con respecto a los temas que van a explorar y con periodistas locales. La IWMF financiará los gastos de las becarias, incluyendo viajes, alojamiento, comidas y asistentes/intérpretes, salvo que el medio de prensa de algúna periodista en particular desee asumir estos costos.

The purchase and maintenance of investigation tools and methods used by beneficiaries in the fight against irregularities, fraud and corruption detrimental to the Union’s financial interests, in particular the fight against tobacco smuggling and/or counterfeiting (\"Investigation tools\"). The Union\'s financial interests cover Union revenues (traditional own resources (ToR) and VAT) and expenditure, in particular under shared management (structural funds, agriculture). Specialised training to enable staff to operate these tools is included and will be encouraged.
